Brendan Mooney Psychology is situated in a convenient location in the heart of Lismore CBD, New South Wales Australia. The clinic address is Level 1, Starcourt Arcade, 28/126 Molesworth Street Lismore New South Wales 2480. Whilst Brendan is based in Lismore he offers online psychology services worldwide and travels nationally and internationally for workplace seminars and presentations. 

Is this a crisis counselling service?
Brendan Mooney Psychology is not a crisis counselling service. If you are in a crisis, please contact your emergency services or local hospital for immediate assistance. In addition, for mental health services click here. 


How do I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment by phoning us on 0421 840 976 or via our Contact Form.
 
Who does Brendan see?
Brendan offers counselling to adults, adolescents, children, couples and families. He also offers coaching services for businesses and corporations including workplace seminars and presentations.  

How long are the appointments?

Appointments are approximately 50 minutes in duration.
 
Do you have EFTPOS and rebate facilities?
EFTPOS facilities are available as well as on the spot claiming for Medicare and private health insurance rebates.
 
Do you offer after-hours appointments?
Brendan does not offer after-hours appointments. Appointments are scheduled on week days from 8am till 5pm and some Saturday mornings. If you are in a crisis, please contact your emergency services or local hospital for immediate assistance. 
 
What services is Brendan registered for?
Brendan is a registered provider with Medicare, NDIS, Workers Compensation, CTP, TAC, DVA and private health insurance companies. 
 
How much are the appointments?
Please contact us for advice on fees.
 
Do you bulk-bill?
No we are not a bulk-billing practice.

Is there a cancellation policy?
A cancellation fee of $50 applies: if you give us less than 24 hours notice of a cancellation, and this occurs twice or more times (conditions apply). We understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur which prevents being able to give adequate notice, such as sudden sickness or emergency. If this occurs please let our reception staff know as soon as possible of your situation. 
 
Are phone or online appointments available?
​Face-to-face, phone or online appointments are available.

Do you make referrals to other services?
Throughout the course of the psychology service, a referral to another health service may be recommended (e.g. a General Practitioner or Psychiatrist). All referrals made are to evidence-based modalities only.
 
What qualifications and training does Brendan have?
To become a fully registered Psychologist a person must undertake an undergraduate degree, an Honours degree and at least two years of practical, supervised experience as a Provisional Psychologist which may also include postgraduate university education. Brendan is a fully registered Psychologist.
 
Is Brendan a member of his professional body?
Brendan is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a Member of the Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association (ANZMH).

Has Brendan won any awards? 
Brendan has won several awards, the most recent being at the Enablement Awards 2019 for the Most Outstanding Psychology Services Provider in Australasia.   

​Do I need to attend my child’s appointments?
Clients under 18 years of age have at least one parent or carer present at all times for their appointments.
 
Does Brendan undertake research?
​Brendan presents on a variety of topics related to psychology at national and international conferences and publishes research in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Applied Neuropsychology.
