'Men and women have an equal capacity to be communicative and expressive.' - Brendan Mooney Psychologist
'Men are naturally deeply caring and tender, and hence let's support men to let go of the hurts they carry so that these natural qualities can be expressed.' - Brendan Mooney Psychologist
'If we do not accept men as naturally very sensitive, and nurture and foster their sensitivity in every way, are we not rejecting their natural nature and asking if not demanding they be hard, tough, or rough? Do we have a responsibility to support men to live their natural qualities if we truly do not want to live in a world where sometimes men can become abusive? Whilst men are absolutely responsible if they choose to be abusive, we ought to foster men to live naturally rather than allowing if not expecting them to be who they are not. And if we have an issue with men being sensitive, have we asked ourselves why? In other words, what do we get to avoid dealing with by keeping men desensitised?' - Brendan Mooney Psychologist
'Men are super sensitive, even though many try hard to hide it, ignore it or even deny it.' - Brendan Mooney Psychologist
'Suicide rates are substantially higher amongst men than women. Could this be related to the accumulated internal tension over time of men not expressing themselves? We all know what it is like to push undealt with issues under the carpet– but has this become the default education for dealing with issues that boys and men are taught throughout life? Do we consider the devastating effect this may have over time?' - Brendan Mooney Psychologist
'Men are naturally sensitive, and we can see this very clearly in young boys. However, the world often does not encourage boys to be sensitive but to be hard, to 'get on with it', and to not express what they are feeling. Hence these boys can grow up to be men who are essentially impotent when it comes to expressing their feelings, which results in a whole host of issues for their relationships, their ability to make sound decisions, and their health. We ought to support men to express their feelings for it is natural for them to do so'. - Brendan Mooney Psychologist
