'Is it possible that we use anger as a form of manipulation? For example, when a person is angry people often describe needing to 'walk around on eggshells' because they feel the person might otherwise have an outburst. Hence anger is used as a form of controlling other people in an attempt to keep them away so that they will not come too close and possibly trigger what the person who is angry is trying to avoid dealing with (the underlying hurt).' - Brendan Mooney Psychologist
